Chetan Burman is a Indian businessman, investor and collector, who dedicated his Burman Foundation to art from China, Japan, Europe and the rest of the world. It aims to popularize international 18th century and 19th century art through its ideas, collections, museums, sponsorship and other kinds of projects.

Chetan Burman was born in India, and grew up in Delhi to become a successful businessman specializing in the consumer goods industry. In 2000, he became obsessed with the art and began to study art collection. He established his private collection in the early 2000s. Over a decade, as one of the top Asian collectors, he built up Burman Collection, which balances equally art from the East and the West. The Chinese section is one of the most significant internationally, particularly for the period from the early 18th century to the late 19th century.

Throughout his life, Chetan Burman has had a private passion for art. He started this hobby through collecting for personal purposes, and then began to help friends and close acquaintances who shared a similar passion and interest. Chetan Burman decided to focus on his passion for art full time when he returned back to Dubai from India, and he founded Burman Foundation in 2019.
